TI’s TLV320DAC3202 is a high-fidelity, high-efficiency and low-power class G headphone amplifier that integrates DAC and power supply. The static power consumption of 6.5mW channel SNR is 100dB (A), built-in short circuit protection, supports 8-, 11.025-, 12- , 16-, 24-, 32-, 44.1 and 48-kHz sampling frequencies, digitally controlled I2C interface, supports 16-, 20-, 24- and 32-bit data widths, 32-step volume control, from 4dB to -59dB, mainly used in intelligent Cell phones and music phones, handheld navigators, PMPs and PDAs, handheld game consoles, HDDs and flash-based handheld audio players. The TLV320DAC3202 is a high fidelity and low power headphone amplifier with integrated DAC and power rails. The small solution size and highly efficient operation maximizes battery life and performance. The digital audio interface supports industry standard formats such as I2S and PCM. Many features of this device such as volume setting, data width and sampling rate are configurable for optimum flexibility and efficiency. The headset power control automatically adjusts the rail voltage based on the input signal to maximize efficiency and performance. The control interface uses an industry standard I2C controller for ease of operation and reduction in device pin count.

The TLV320DAC3202EVM provides a simplified platform to evaluate the performance and functionality of the TLV320DAC3202 low-power headset IC. A complete circuit description, schematic diagram, and bill of materials are included.
Key features of the TLV320DAC3202EVM evaluation board:
• A USB stick version of the TLV320DAC3202EVM for easy operation
• USB connection to PC provides the ability to stream audio data for evaluation
• Power to TLV320DAC3202 can be supplied from a PC USB connection, or an external battery by changing the jumper connection
